Covergirl Tru Blend Matte Made: Review

Earlier this month, Covergirl released its newest foundation, Covergirl Tru Blend Matte Made.

The new foundation is an addition to their extensive line and features sleek packaging with a convenient pump.

According to the Covergirl website, the formula is matte, not cakey, and is developed with flexi-hold technology that creates a strong, yet flexible film on skin for durability and comfort. The product also claims to have 12-hr wear, minimize pores and absorb oil. It's also transfer resistant and is available in 40 shades.

Last month, Covergirl generously sent me over the entire foundation range to try out before the product hit shelves.

If you take a look at my foundation collection- you probably will only find one Covergirl foundation in there, the Vitalist Healthy Elixir. I've never found a Covergirl foundation that has been my holy grail, but let me just say I think this one may be it.

The Test

I apply the foundation the same way I do with my others, with a damp beauty blender. I find that two pumps results in perfect even coverage. The shade L40- Classic Ivory, is a perfect match for my skintone. The foundation is medium to full and looks flawless on the skin.

The first time I used this product I was blown away at the amazing coverage and comfortable matte result. I did set it with a pressed powder to remove any sticky feeling, and noticed the foundation lasted all day.

Before using this, I had tiny breakouts around my forehead and cheeks, and now my skin is breakout-free- it has improved dramatically. Whenever I wear this foundation I get so many compliments on how my skin looks glass like. The foundation just melts into my skin and even looks better than some high end ones I own.

Final Thoughts

After using the foundation for weeks, I can say that it has become my holy grail. I've put my Maybelline Superstay, and Diorforever on the side and have used this one instead. My skin doesn't feel greasy and the foundation stays put all day. I'm nearly halfway through the bottle and I plan on purchasing a backup because it's just that good.
